American General Critical Illness Plans And Our Insurance Brokerage System Has To Offer!
Critical
Illness Insurance Brokerage
While the chances of surviving a critical illness such as cancer,
heart attack or stroke are greater than ever, living with the
condition can create severe financial hardships.
Traditional health insurance plans
cover medical expenses, but costs such as insurance deductibles,
child care, travel to and from treatment facilities, and short-term
home health care must often be paid out-of-pocket by the patient.
While disability insurance policies
will replace lost income, they may require a lengthy waiting period
to take effect.
AG insurance brokerage designed CriticalCare Plus® supplemental health insurance to help
cover the additional expenses associated with a critical illness
diagnosis. The benefit is paid directly to you to use as you see fit
— regardless of what is covered by your other insurance plans.
- Pays a tax-free (based on
current federal income tax laws) single-payment benefit
regardless of what is covered by other sources — up to $500,000
— directly to the policy holder
- Pays all benefits directly to
the policy holder (unless payment is assigned to a healthcare
provider), regardless of what is covered by traditional health
plans
- Can cover a broad range of
conditions most likely to cause major lifestyle changes,
including cancer, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure
- Can cover the Loss of
Independent Living Benefit, which is the inability to perform at
least two of six activities of daily living: bathing, dressing,
toileting, transferring, continence and eating
- Can cover spouse and children
on the same policy
- Preventive Care Benefit pays
up to $50 a year for a wide variety of medical tests
- Free membership in Best
Doctors® referral service, a network of 40,000 specialists who
can provide second opinions on your diagnosis and treatment
plans.2

provide benefits
upon a second or third diagnosis

Rider pays the full benefit to a medical professional upon
diagnosis of HIV acquired in the course of work-related duties
- The Accidental Death and
Dismemberment Rider pays an additional lump-sum cash benefit in
the event of an accidental dismemberment or loss of life

A Tale Of Two Agents
Captive Agent
An agent
working exclusively for a single firm. He or she is obliged to submit
business only to that firm, or at least give that firm first rights of
refusal on the case.
Captive agents that are non-established are
usually paid on a combination of salary and commissions earned from selling
the policy contract. Also, the firm usually provides its captive agents
with an allowance for office expenses as well as employee benefits such as
pensions, life insurance, and health insurance.
The
established captive agent is usually paid exclusively on a commission
basis. This type of agent will tend to have more in-depth knowledge of
that firm's policies, however, he or she will hardly ever be equipped
to offer the industries' best price on any particular product
offering.
Independent
Agent Broker
Simply said, independent agents are appointed to sell
policies from many insurers. The agent is independent from all the
companies thus, the independent agent's responsibility is solely focused
on evaluating the client's needs and the pricing of the product
chosen.
While searching for the
brokerage market's best place for a
client's business, independent agents pay all their own expenses and
keep their own records and earn their income from brokerage commissions on the
policies they sell.
